New Team i360 Member: Professional Skier Mirjam Jaeger

Ladies and Gentleman…I give you the newest i360 Team Member…World skiing sensation Mirjam Jaeger.  She is what we consider a juggernaut to the sport of skiing by placing with high marks in the X-Games, Dew Tour, European Open and everything else in between.  We are stoked to have Mirjam on the team and look forward to big things this winter from her on the slopes.  Welcome to the familia!

I was born the 9th of November 1982 in Zurich, Switzerland. Growing up in Zurich I was close to the mountains so I used to ski a lot and I always loved it. In the nineties snowboarding became more popular and in 1991. I tried snowboarding for the first time. Snowboarding quickly became my new passion. Soon after I started doing regional halfpipe competitions, I put all my spare time into snowboarding and even went to sports school to make sure I could be on the snow as often as possible.

Things started working out the way I had hoped they would and already at the age of sixteen I got my first sponsors. In 2002 I finished high school (Swiss Matura) and moved to Lucerne to study law. After one year of successful studies I quit University because it was not possible to combine a full time study with a full time occupation as a snowboarder.
In 2004 I entered the Univeristy of hagen in Germany to study Economics by correspondence (Bachelor in Business Administration and Economics). This study allows me to choose my own tempo and to use the summer season to focus on my study. At around the same time, in 2003, I started to ski again. At first it was just for fun because freeskiing at that time was still pretty new in Switzerland. After some time skiing slowly conquered my heart again and I started to ski more and more until I decided to stop snowboarding altogether in 2005 and concentrate on skiing only. I think I’ve never been as keen on a sport as I am on freeskiing nowadays.

When I ski it brings a smile on my face all day; it is a feeling of pure happiness even when the weather conditions are bad. For me is definitely a trip back to my roots. I would not be able to live without skiing anymore; it has become one of the most important things in my life. I love it and makes me feel great. I am living my dream and loving it!
